Bulgaria's rating among the free countries in the world is deteriorating: Freedom House

The situation with freedom in the world is deteriorating, and authoritarianism is increasing, according to the annual ranking of the non-governmental organization "Freedom House", which monitors the state of democracy around the world. The countries in the report are divided into 3 categories: free, partly free and not free.

Bulgaria is in the category of free countries - with 77 out of 100 points. The rating has two components. In terms of political rights, Bulgaria scores 32 out of 40 possible points. In terms of civil liberties, the country receives 45 out of 60 possible. The total number is 77. According to the last indicator in last year's report, the rating was 46 and Bulgaria had 78 points.

The only country with a perfect score in the ranking is Finland. 

China and Russia are in the category of not free countries - with 9 and 12 points, respectively.
