The most widespread breach ascertained during the verification of the results from the latest election for parliament is connected with the registering of the valid and the invalid votes, Alexander Andreev, former chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and expert in the case being examined by the Constitutional Court regarding the results of the parliamentary election said for the BNR.

During the week, the Court assigned the CEC a recalculation which would show whether the disparities ascertained between the actual number of ballots in the ballot boxes and the numbers put down in the tally sheets would alter the distribution if seats in parliament.

According to Velichie party leader Ivelin Mihaylov, whose party was 21 votes short of clearing the 4% threshold for entering the National Assembly, the case file shows that the biggest number of attempts were for declaring invalid ballots valid in favour of the parties GERB, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and Vazrazhdane. As an interested party, the Constitutional Court granted Velichie the right to get acquainted with the case file.

“Aside from that, votes for Velichie have been found which would get the party into the National Assembly with 11+ MPs,” Ivelin Mihaylov said.
