Professor Georgi Djulgerov is the only Bulgarian filmmaker who joins the names of world cinema, winners of the FIPRESCI Platinium Award. In 2025, the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) marks its 100th anniversary. On this occasion, FIPRESCI will honour one of Bulgaria’s most iconic film directors.

The award will be presented immediately after the special screening of Djulgerov's latest film "Razlom" on March 15 at 8:30 pm at Lumiere Cinema. The film tells the story of the Goryani and their 13-year resistance against communism in Bulgaria.

"The award is not only a recognition for me, but a recognition for Bulgarian cinema", Georgi Djulgerov said in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.

"What scares me today is that the memory of the past has become very faded – I teach and I see how little the smart and ambitious young people know about their predecessors", Professor Djulgerov said.
