Bulgaria welcomes the agreement on a ceasefire in Ukraine reached between the delegations of Kiev and Washington, who met in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. This is clear from a post by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov on the social network X.

The agreement is an important step towards achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine, the Bulgarian prime minister also said.

"We call on all parties for political will in the name of peace. Bulgaria is ready to participate in the peace process together with the US and the EU," the prime minister's post also said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in the context of a possible peace agreement for Ukraine that Moscow will avoid accepting any compromises that would endanger people's lives, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
