74% of Bulgarian young people are more or less considering the idea of emigrating abroad, according to a study in Southeast Europe conducted by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. 9,000 people between the ages of 14 and 29 were polled.
Recent years have seen an increase in the migration attitudes of young people, probably due to the multiple crises caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and inflation, BTA reports.
Asked when they plan to leave, 20.8% indicated "in 2 to 5 years." 28.3 percent said they could not estimate, Parvan Simeonov reported. Just 26% of young people do not intend to leave. The trend of highly qualified people being potential emigrants is also returning.
