Bulgarian snowboarder Tervel Zamfirov achieved another grand success, although he did it very dramatically. He became world champion in the men’s parallel slalom. The 20-year-old Bulgarian triumphed after a victory in the final with a 0.40-second lead over Austrian Arvid Auner at the Snowboard World Championships in Engadin, Switzerland.

In every round, Tervel Zamfirov's lead was minimal, and the most difficult challenge seemed to be in the round of 16. There, he defeated German Ole-Mikkel Prantl by only 0.09 seconds.

Earlier this month, Tervel Zamfirov became a three-time junior world champion, taking the titles in the parallel slalom, the parallel giant slalom and the team event.
