The Ministry of Education and Science is preparing legislative changes to ban the use of mobile phones in schools, Minister Krasimir Valchev said. The texts will be presented to MPs in May or June.
“Currently we have a ban on the use of phones in class. We will propose to MPs that the use of phones be fully restricted in school, which means that their use will not be allowed during breaks,” the minister said. However, he allows some exceptions for “strictly educational purposes.”
If the proposals are adopted in the plenary hall, the phones will be taken away before the start of the school day.
