The Mountain Rescue Service of the Bulgarian Red Cross warns tourists in the mountains to be careful of icing and falling into the snow. Thunderstorms, fog and precipitation are possible, Asya Dzhambazova, a rescuer on duty from the BRC's Mountain Rescue Service, told BTA.

Temperatures in the mountains in the country are around 0 degrees and the snow is melting very quickly. According to Dzhambazova, it is clear and quiet in the Stara Planina Mountains, but in the other mountains it is cloudy or there is fog.

The conditions for tourism are dynamic and before hiking it is good for people to get information from the Mountain Rescue Service website for each mountain separately.

In the next two weeks, the forecasts in the mountains are for rain and snow and tourists should be careful.
