Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and political and religious leaders congratulated the Muslim community in our country on the occasion of the great holiday of Ramadan Bayram.

“Our far-sighted ancestors have bequeathed to us the invaluable lesson of building bridges of understanding and mercy without distinction of religion, ethnicity and belief,” the head of state stated. He added that in divisive times for the world, when humanity is cracking under the pressure of weapons and merciless force, dialogue and empathy acquire special value.

According to the Prime Minister, Bulgaria is an example of understanding and respect between all religious communities. “This holiday reminds us of the power of faith, the importance of mercy and empathy for human pain and suffering,” he emphasized.

“After the month of mutual assistance and sharing, today we welcome the holiday of sharing, Ramadan Bayram,” says the chief mufti Mustafa Hadji. According to him, Muslims have been spiritually charged and this charge will keep them alive until the next month of Ramadan.

Greetings to Bulgarian Muslims were also extended by the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov, the leader of “DPS – New Beginning” Delyan Peevski, and the leader of “Democracy, Rights and Freedoms” – DPS Dzhevdet Chakarov.
