Bulgaria wants Sts. Cyricus and Julitta Island to become part of UNESCO heritage

If Bulgaria manages to implement the prepared project for Sts. Cyricus and Julitta Island, it could become part of the UNESCO cultural and historical heritage. This was announced by Vice President Iliana Iotova at a meeting in Sozopol at the invitation of Mayor Tihomir Yanakiev.

The future of the island was discussed by the local authorities, representatives of the Ministry of Culture and the initiative committee for the creation of an arts center on the island, as well as scientists and experts. The Vice President is part of the initiative committee and has been supporting the project for the preservation and development of the island for years. France has also shown interest in participating in the project.
