Bulgarian supercomputer Discoverer has been upgraded with new capabilities

The upgrade of the Bulgarian supercomputer Discoverer has been completed successfully, and the machine now has new systems capable of additional specialized services in the sphere of AI in business, the science community and the public sector in the EU.

Discoverer is part of the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU), and is the first supercomputer from the EU network which has been upgraded since its creation in 2021. With its new capabilities, the machine will be used in developing applications for industrial and public purposes for Europe. It is already specialized in neural network training, working with large language models, AI, creation of digital twins, machine learning and other computationally intensive tasks.
