One out of five Bulgarians approves the development of artificial intelligence

More than 42% of Bulgarians are concerned about the development of artificial intelligence. According to a quick survey on the topic by the Myara agency, published by BTA, 37 percent of those surveyed said they were not familiar with it, 2.1% did not answer, and 18.7 percent enthusiastically accept the development of artificial intelligence. 

The independent telephone survey by the sociological agency was conducted in the period March 14 to 18th, 2025, among 801 adult Bulgarian citizens. According to the data, among 30-44-year-olds, the share of those who enthusiastically accept AI rises to nearly 30 percent and concern also drops to nearly 30 percent, although it remains slightly higher than enthusiasm. In this group those who claim to have used artificial intelligence are 31.4%. 68 percent say they have not used artificial intelligence. According to 54.2% of respondents, artificial intelligence can lead to job losses, 21.1 percent find it to be an opportunity for relief, 20.1% admit that they are not sufficiently familiar with the topic, and nearly 5 percent cannot answer.
