Two wins for Bulgaria at the European Chess Championship in Rhodes

Beloslava Krasteva

Beloslava Krasteva defeated the European Champion Ulviyya Fataliyeva from Azerbaijan with the white pieces in the sixth round of the European Women's Individual Classical Chess Championship on the Greek island of Rhodes. So far she is 24th in the provisional ranking with 4 points.


Nadia Toncheva achieved an equally remarkable result with a draw against the former World and European Champion Anna Ushenina from Ukraine. Also with 4 points, the Bulgarian chess player is 22nd in the provisional ranking.


Viktoria Radeva brought another victory for the Bulgarians - against Bozhena Piddubna from Ukraine. Andzhelika Nenova drew with Manon Schippke from France and Antoaneta Stefanova suffered her third defeat in a row, this time against Teja Vidic from Slovenia.


The 25th European Women's Chess Championship takes place from 31 March to 11 April in
