The personnel crisis in the tourism sector has reached critical levels, with various data indicating that up to 70% of tourist sites are understaffed. Economic losses from unrealized tourism potential are estimated at nearly 500 million euros. In search of a solution to the problem, the Bulgarian Hotel Association is organizing a round table in Sofia today on the topic of "The Personnel Shortage in Tourism: People, Solutions, Future". Various models for ensuring year-round employment for personnel based on working practices from other markets will be presented.

Other important topics that will be discussed include the possibilities for easing the visa regime for tourists and workers, regaining positions lost after the pandemic in traditional markets, the development of new markets such as Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kosovo, Scandinavia and Spain, and improving the infrastructure for extending the season.
