In the first quarter of 2025, the control bodies of the General Labour Inspectorate Executive Agency shut down three times more sites, workplaces, machines and equipment that posed a direct threat to the life and health of workers, compared to the same period last year. The measure was applied 370 times. This is an increase of more than three times compared to the same period last year, when it was applied 118 times.

The Agency carried out over 13,000 inspections. Nearly 51,000 violations of labour legislation were identified - 27,740 violations of the provisions on ensuring healthy and safe working conditions and 22,830 violations in the implementation of labour relations. There were 914 cases of people working without an employment contract. In 22 cases, workers were removed from the workplace due to lack of proper qualifications or failure to comply with safety regulations.

''The increased detection of violations is also a result of the introduction of the so-called quick inspections, carried out outside the working hours of the Labour Inspectorate'', the agency commented.
