For road safety, it is not enough to change the law, as the measures must be much more, the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova, who attended the Palm Sunday celebration in Lovech, told journalists.

“Administrative measures and the conditions of roads are a reason, but we cannot say that they are the only reason for road accidents. A very serious problem is the behavior of drivers and road users. The aggression we have been seing in the last few years on the road is at the root – excessive speed, disregard for road conditions and aggression among all drivers,” Natalia Kiselova added.

She recalled that the parliament had organized two discussions on road safety with the “Angels on the Road” association and then a temporary committee was established. In May, proposals for changes in the legislation are due. Meanwhile, six bills amending the Road Traffic Act were adopted.
