A contract for the search and exploration of oil and natural gas deposits in the Khan Tervel Block 1-26, located in Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea, will be signed at an official ceremony in Sofia today.

The agreement will be signed by the Ministry of Energy of Bulgaria and Shell Exploration and Production. The ceremony will also be attended by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.

The new exploration in the Black Sea is an important step towards revealing the potential of Bulgaria's own production in the context of the country's energy independence.
