If we delay and do not reorganize and modernize our arms industry, in 5-6 years it will be exotic for the European arms market. This is a major challenge", said Bulgaria’s Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov during the discussion “The Hague 2025: NATO’s Horizon and Bulgaria’s Vision.”

"NATO membership has been achieved, but that does not mean the job is done. We will need to work, to present what NATO is doing, how it takes care of security", Minister Zapryanov added.

Preparation for the NATO Summit on June 24-25 in The Hague is underway. With the new US administration coming to power, the role of the European pillar in NATO will need to be fundamentally strengthened. "We share the view of the majority of our allies that defense spending should be tied to the new package of capability goals", emphasized Atanas Zapryanov.
