The parliamentary group of "Vazrazhdane", represented by Kostadin Kostadinov, accused Speaker of the National Assembly Nataliya Kiselova of "suspending" the Constitution and demanded her resignation, BTA has reported. The declaration is on the occasion of Kiselova's decision to return the proposal submitted by President Rumen Radev for holding a referendum on the euro.

Kostadinov pointed out that Kiselova's actions were unacceptable, but are not a precedent and recalled the refusal of the ruling majority in 2023 to comply with the will of 604,000 Bulgarian citizens to hold a referendum on preserving the Bulgarian lev. "You have arrogated to yourself the right to be above the Constitution," Kostadinov said and called for Kiselova's resignation.
