Bulgarian government delegation to attend inauguration of Pope Leo XIV in Vatican

A government delegation led by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will attend Sunday's solemn liturgy marking the beginning of the pontificate of Pope Leo XIV, the government press service announced. Deputy Prime Ministers Atanas Zafirov and Grozdan Karadzhov will also participate.

The inauguration ceremony will take place in the Vatican. After the solemn liturgy, the head of the Roman Catholic Church will greet the heads of delegations attending the event.

High-ranking guests are expected to include US Vice President J.D. Vance, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Belgian King Philippe, Dutch Queen Maxima, presidents and prime ministers.
