Public transport in Sofia resumes its normal operation

The normal movement of buses, trolleybuses and trams in Sofia is being restored as of today, after last night the unions announced an end to the 6-day blockade of public transport.
Vehicles will operate according to the schedule that was in force before the protests.

Shortly after 7 p.m. last night, protesters from the tram depot in the Banishora district removed the barriers and cleared the entrance for vehicles to pass through. They welcomed the decision to provide 15 million leva, with which the salaries of all public transport workers will be increased by 300 leva from April 1.

Unions have announced that they will remain in a state of readiness for strike in case the managements of the companies do not implement the agreed increase.

Despite the return to the normal ground transport schedule, today the Sofia Metro will operate at shorter intervals and with additional locomotives.
