In April this year, a cybersecurity breach was detected in the Permanent Delegation of Bulgaria to NATO, PP-DB MP Ivaylo Mirchev announced.

According to information of BNR reporter Dobromir Videv, the attack was carried out with the aim of demanding a ransom and sensitive information leaked during it. On this occasion, the MP expects a response from Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov on the measures taken.

Recently, Atanas Zapryanov told the parliamentary Committee for Control over Security Services that the army was subjected to attacks every day by both non-governmental and governmental entities. "The army knows who is attacking it and by what means," he said, but did not provide details.
