Asen Grigorov, a respected and recognisable voice in Bulgarian media, has passed away after a short illness. Known for his sharp analysis and fine irony, he was one of the country’s most distinctive journalists.
Born in 1966, he began his career with BNT in 1988 and later became one of the faces of the influential programme Plus-Minus. He went on to produce Nova TV’s morning show and served as executive director of RE:TV. In 2020, he founded Boulevard Bulgaria, a platform dedicated to thoughtful commentary and in-depth reporting.
Grigorov was a recipient of the Bulgarian Media Coalition’s award for ethical journalism and completed professional training at the BBC in London.
He leaves behind a legacy of principled, intelligent journalism that inspired both colleagues and audiences.
