The medical specialists from the transfusion haematology unit of the hospital in Shumen will support their colleagues from the National Center of Transfusion Haematology who are organizing a protest today against “the negligence of those in power in Bulgaria and the humiliating pay”, BNR’s Radio Shumen reports.

The protest will be symbolic – the unit will not shut down and will continue to work with all people wishing to give blood. The protest of the specialists working in the system are over problems connected with working conditions, staff shortages and low pay. The protest will be supported by medics from all over the country, as well as by all people employed within the healthcare system who share the same pain and the same concerns, Zashita (protection) TU says.
