Nearly 36,000 young people, including 561 from Bulgaria, will be able to travel for free across Europe thanks to their participation in the European Commission's DiscoverEU initiative. The trips must take place between 1 July 2025 and 30 September 2026.
Young people born between 1 July 2006 and 30 June 2007 applied for DiscoverEU in April 2025. They will travel mainly by train and will receive a DiscoverEU travel pass, as well as a European Youth Card, which provides cheaper access to accommodation, food, local transport, discounts on cultural visits and more.
The initiative offers 18-year-olds the opportunity to experience the diversity of Europe first-hand.
