Most Bulgarians prefer independent tourist trips

In the first quarter of 2025, 1.1 million Bulgarian citizens made tourist trips. 75.7% of them traveled only in the country; 20% - only abroad, and 4.3% traveled both in the country and abroad, according to NSI data.

Bulgarian citizens aged 45 - 64 traveled the most (38.9% of all travelers). 1.2 million, or 87.3% of the total number of personal trips for the period, were registered as independent. The relative share of independent trips without a reservation in the country is 92.1%, and of those abroad - 67.7%.
