Court dismisses case for the expulsion of Delyan Peevski from DPS

The Supreme Court of Cassation has dismissed the case over the expulsion of Delyan Peevski from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and several other people.

This happens a day after "DPS - New Beginning" announced that Dzhevdet Chakarov had resigned as co-chair of the party. At the same time, lawyers authorized by Chakarov requested that the court dismiss the case for the changes in the leadership of the DPS, with which those close to the honorary chairman Ahmed Dogan wanted to expel Delyan Peevski as co-chair of the party.

There are several more pending cases between the two factions in DPS (DPS - New Beginning of Delyan Peevski and DPS– DPS around Ahmed Dogan) for changes in the composition of the movement's governing bodies. Most likely, their fate will be the same, because according to the Register of Political Parties, the only legitimate representatives of DPS are the two co-chairs Delyan Peevski and Dvezhdet Chakarov, but after Chakarov's resignation, only Peevski remains, BNR reporter Silvia Velikova reported.
