“We expect a good harvest of high-quality wheat which will cover the demand inside the country as well as export after the harvest. Around 90% of the crops are in good and very good condition,” said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Yanislav Yanchev, citing inspections conducted by the regional agriculture directorates.
The future of agricultural policy will be decided in the coming months in Europe, Deputy Minister Yancvhev said during a visit to Aytos where the agri forum “A day in the field 2025” is taking place. He urges farmers to be active in the debates and spoke of the consistent policy pursued by the ministry for preserving the budget with the two pillars for helping the agricultural sector in the EU. Direct payments and the funding for the development of rural regions provide stability of farmers’ incomes and food security on the continent, Yanislav Yanchev stated.
