Ahmed Dogan’s supporters will hold an extraordinary meeting of their party’s central operative bureau to discuss the idea of creating a new political party, BGNES reports. According to unofficial data, its leader will be MP Ilhan Kyuchyuk.

The reason for the possible formation of a new political project is the decision, by Dzhevdet Chakarov to resign as chairman of the Democracy, Rights and Freedoms parliamentary group DPS–DPS (aligned with Ahmed Dogan) and to withdraw the application for expelling Delyan Peevski from the Movement for rights and Freedoms (DPS). Meanwhile the Supreme Court of Cassation dismissed the case regarding changes within the party.

“We have to be very careful about what kind of party is coming. I think Ahmed Dogan will take the side of the modern vision of the future political instrument of the community, and also that the new project is inevitable because we no longer have a political instrument in our hands,” Yudjel Atilla, member of the DPS Central Council told the BNR.

One of the aims a new party will set itself is the holding of early elections for parliament.
