Citizens gathered in the so-called triangle of power in Sofia, demanding the resignation of the government and keeping the Bulgarian lev, BNR reporters Nikolay Hristov and Svetoslava Kuzmanova informed. The protest was organized by Vazrazhdane party.

The party’s chairman, Kostadin Kostadinov, recalled the letter to the presidents and prime ministers of the European Union member states, in which Vazrazhdane insists that the country must not be forcibly brought into the eurozone.

“It is enough for a single country to decide to abide by the law – unlike all the others, who are obviously participating in the general criminal omertà in Brussels – and for Bulgaria to receive satisfaction from its struggle. And our struggle is in the name of democracy, in the name of our rights and in the name of our most important right – the right to vote. Italy decided to hold 5 referendums,” said Kostadin Kostadinov and assured that the demonstrations will continue until a clear answer to the demands is received.

With a protest march in the city center, residents of Varna demanded a national referendum on the introduction of the euro, BTA reported. The main organizer of the initiative was the Vazrazhdane party. The protesters held up posters with demands to preserve the lev.
