Increased demand for euros among Bulgarian consumers is reported

The interest in exchanging levs for euros has increased by more than 50% after the positive convergence reports of the European Commission and the European Central Bank. This was reported by financier Max Baklayan for Radio Varna. He explained that there is a shortage of euros in exchange offices, which leads to an increase in its price to 1.97 leva per selling rate.

The demand for euros exceeds the supply by about 10 times, but few customers have been turned away. There are no limits on the exchange of Bulgarian levs. It is not yet necessary to make requests for processing the currency conversion, but this will soon be possible, as the economist expects the demand for euros to continue. The volumes of converted levs into euros in the capital are equal to the total quantities in Varna, Burgas and Plovdiv, Baklayan explained.
