July 4, Bulgartransgaz, Bulgaria's gas transmission and gas storage operator, is raising a loan of 100 million euros for the Vertical Gas Corridor. Through the expanded pipeline, Bulgaria will be able to transport natural gas from the USA, Azerbaijan, Egypt and other countries to Central and Eastern Europe, announced the company's CEO Vladimir Malinov.

The repayment period is 5 years. The loan is secured by a state guarantee. In the Bulgarian part, the project envisages a 50% increase in capacity for the transmission of up to 3.6 billion cubic meters per year, as well as a reverse mode. With the second phase of the expansion, it is expected that the capacity to Romania will double - up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

In addition to Bulgaria, the Vertical Gas Corridor involves the gas transmission operators of Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Moldova.
