Electronic gates for automatic document checks on British nationals entering Bulgaria through Sofia's Vasil Levski Airport are now operational. The electronic gates were demonstrated to Interior Minister Daniel Mitov and British Minister for European Union Relations Nicklaus Thomas-Symonds.
The electronic controls were introduced following the May 19 agreement between the UK and the EU. Mitov noted that the agreement is important for Bulgaria, which expects many tourists from the UK during both the winter and summer months.
