Zhecho Stankov: Bulgaria has a key role in energy connectivity in the region

In a few weeks, another ship with pipes for the Vertical Gas Corridor will arrive at the port of Burgas, announced Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov at the Burgas 2025 Connectivity Forum. The event brought together diplomats, ministers and leading experts in energy, transport, economics and security from all over Europe. Stankov emphasized the key role of our country in ensuring energy connectivity in the region, the Ministry of Energy announced.


"Bulgaria has become an extremely important pillar of energy stability in the region. We are the first country to start actions to build the Vertical Gas Corridor, strengthening the opportunities for real diversification," he said.

The strategic project, which is entering a crucial stage of its implementation on Bulgarian territory, is supported by the governments of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova and Ukraine.
