The Commission for the Protection of Competition has started a sectoral analysis of the food market. After inspections by the National Revenue Agency, the Commission for Consumer Protection and the Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC) in over 300 retail outlets in Bulgaria and 50 retail chains, the CPC has requested information from retailers on whether there are objective reasons for the price increase.

On this basis, checks for cartels and dominant positions will be made, which may even lead to bankruptcies, Rosen Karadimov, Chairman of the Commission for the Protection of Competition, warned in an interview with BNT. According to him, the commission has the right to conduct searches, as well as to seize software and computers.
