MPs to discuss a third no-confidence vote in the Zhelyazkov cabinet

The National Assembly will debate the third motion of no confidence in Rosen Zhelyazkov's government today. The vote will take place no earlier than 24 hours after the end of the debates.

Proposed on 27 June by the Vazrazhdane party, the motion of no confidence is also supported by the Velichie and MECH parties. It cites the government’s failures in fiscal policy and eurozone accession and notes that the cabinet is deepening fiscal imbalances and failing to take the necessary measures to restore the sustainability of Bulgaria’s public finances.

Previous attempts to topple the government by Vazrazhdane and MECH, citing failures in foreign policy and anti-corruption efforts respectively, have been unsuccessful.
