Minister of Culture Marian Bachеv welcomed participants to the 47th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which is being held under Bulgaria's chairmanship at the international organisation's headquarters in Paris. The session is being attended by representatives from the 194 countries that have ratified the UNESCO World Heritage Convention.

Bachev emphasised the need for the younger generation to be more involved in preserving cultural memory, as well as highlighting the importance of education, digital technologies, and cultural continuity. "Artificial intelligence is a tool, but it is not a solution. It cannot create the individuals who will dedicate themselves to preserving our cultural heritage. That is our mission," said the minister.

According to the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, during the forum, which runs until 16 July, Bulgaria has organised a number of events to showcase part of its rich cultural heritage.
