Arable land prices increase, rental prices decline

In 2024, the average price of arable land transactions in Bulgaria reached 1,697 BGN (867.66 EUR) per decare. Compared to the previous year, the price of arable land increased by 5.9%, indicate data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI). Compared to the previous year, there was an increase in the price of arable land transactions in five Bulgarian regions: the Northwestern, North Central, Northeastern, Southeastern and Southwestern regions. A price decrease was recorded only in the South Central region.

In 2024, the average price of arable land rents was 60 BGN (30.68 EUR) per decare. Compared to the previous year, the rent payments decreased by 3.2%. A decline in the average rental price was observed in the North Central, Northeastern, Southeastern and South Central regions. The price paid for rent/lease of one decare in the Northwestern and the Southwestern regions remained unchanged.

For comparison, in 2017, the average price of arable land in Bulgaria was 870 BGN (444.82 EUR) per decare.
