Today is the start of the National Tourism Festival, which will be hosted by the Malyovitsa resort complex until Sunday, according to a report by BTA.
Participants will be able to join guided hikes along some of Rila's most iconic trails, take part in practical orienteering and mountain running workshops, attend lectures and watch mountain film screenings. The evenings will conclude around a campfire with acoustic music and performances by hiking choirs from across the country.
The festival is part of the celebrations marking the 130th anniversary of the first organized ascent of Cherni Vrah, which laid the foundations of Bulgaria’s hiking movement and the Bulgarian Tourist Union.
