The Multinational Battle Group in Bulgaria is in an excellent position to grow and upgrade to brigade level. This was stated at the Novo Selo training ground by Adm. Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee. At the Novo Selo training ground, he was introduced to the work of the Multinational Battle Group, with Italy as the framework country.

"This is exactly what we say in NATO to all Multinational Battle Groups. You are on the right track, continue to upgrade. This is the commitment we are making," said Dragone, quoted by Radio Burgas.

The Chief of Defense, Adm. Emil Eftimov, emphasized that Bulgaria occupies a key geopolitical position for security in the Black Sea and maintaining close cooperation with allies Romania and Turkey is of great importance for guaranteeing freedom of navigation and general security in the region.

The guest emphasized Bulgaria's important role in security in the Black Sea region and added: "In the face of the growing threats we face - Russia's ties with North Korea, Iran and China, our commitments to deter and defend the Alliance and to protect 1 billion people remain our top priority."
