Levski Sofia defeats Israel’s football champions Hapoel Be'er Sheva in a penalty shootout

Levski Sofia defeated Hapoel Be'er Sheva 3:1 in a penalty shootout and qualified for the second round of the Europa League football tournament, where they will face Portuguese side Braga. The first match will be played in Sofia on July 24.

Goalkeeper Svetoslav Vutsov was the hero during the penalties, saving three of the opponents’ shots.

After a 0:0 draw in Sofia and the Hungarian city of Nyíregyháza, where the Israeli team was the nominal host, Hapoel Be'er Sheva scored first in the 105th minute of extra time. Mustapha Sangaré equalized in the 114th minute, when Hapoel were down to 10 men.
