The one-millionth passenger for this year was solemnly welcomed at Varna Airport. Gerhard Peschke arrived by flight from Frankfurt with his wife, two children and two grandchildren. The family will stay in Obzor, he said. Their vacation will last 9 days, as this is their second visit to Bulgaria.
The one-millionth passenger was officially welcomed by the airport team headed by Dimitar Kostadinov. He recalled that the tradition of welcoming has been going on since 2002. In 2025, the number of passengers reached 1 million 3 weeks earlier than in 2024. Kostadinov specified that 8,100 flights have been serviced so far. The increase in the number of flights this year is expected to reach 15%. The airport in the seaside city is expected to serve 1,900,000 passengers by December 31.
