Regional Library "Peyo K. Yavorov" in Burgas is hosting the forum "Burgas - an intersection of industrial heritage, ecological sensitivity and cultural potential", the organizers from the team of the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation, in partnership with Burgas 2032 Foundation, have announced.

The event is dedicated to the interaction between the natural environment, industrial heritage and the cultural development of the city and is on the occasion of 45 years since the declaration of Atanasovsko Lake as a reserve. The event is part of the initiatives related to Burgas' candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2032, focusing on the opportunities for sustainable development of the city and the lakeside territories. Among them are ideas for the renovation of Atanasovsko Lake and the adjacent spaces, developed by young architects, as well as the concept of the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation, aimed at preserving biodiversity and connecting natural and urban areas.
