Weather forecast for Bulgaria for 18 August 2025

Short-term thunderstorms and slight cooling expected on Tuesday

On Tuesday, the air masses over the country will remain unstable. Cloudy skies are expected, there will also be short-term rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms, in more places in Southern and Eastern Bulgaria. There will also be conditions for hail. Almost no precipitation is expected in the Danube Plain. The wind will again be oriented from the northeast, it will be weak to moderate. 


Daytime highs will be between 25°C and 30°C, in Sofia - around 25°C.

Along the Black Sea coast, cloudiness will be more often significant and in places there will be short-term rain accompanied by thunderstorms. A moderate northeasterly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be 26°C-28°C. The sea water temperature is around 26°C. 

In the mountains there will be short-term rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms. The phenomena will be intense in the massifs in Southwestern Bulgaria and Central Stara Planina. There are also conditions for hail. A weak to moderate wind will blow from the north-northeast, in the higher parts – from the west-northwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 meters will be around 18°C, at 2,000 meters – around 12°C.
