Bulgaria's national football team failed to stand up to Spain and lost 0:3 in front of 40,000 spectators at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in the first match of the World Cup qualifiers.

The captain of the Bulgarin team Kiril Despodov missed the match due to injury

The European champions from Spain opened the scoring before the full five minutes had passed, with Mikel Oyarzabal scoring after a pass from Martin Zubimendi. The goal came after a breakthrough by Yamal and a combination in which Zubimendi gave the final pass, and Oyrasabal scored his fifth goal in the last six matches alone against Bulgaria's goal-keeper Svetoslav Vutsov.

In the 30th minute, left-back Marc Cucurella  scored for 0:2.

The third goal fell in the 38th minute and was scored by Mikel Merino.

The audience at the national stadium in Sofia was lucky enough to see the winner of the "Golden Ball" Rodri live, who after a long treatment for an injury appeared on the field in the 61st minute.

Together with him, another veteran entered the field - Dani Carvajal, taking the place of Pedro Porro on the right flank of the defense.
