Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan held a telephone conversation with his Bulgarian counterpart Rosen Zhelyazkov. The two discussed transport projects and the improvement of navigation along the Danube River, AGERPRES reported, as cited by BTA.
According to a press release from the Romanian government, a central topic of the conversation was the construction of a second bridge over the Danube at Ruse, aimed at reducing congestion at the current border crossing point. A joint working group will be established to analyze and coordinate cross-border projects.
The two prime ministers also agreed to strengthen cooperation within the framework of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and Bulgaria, as well as in the field of maritime security in the Black Sea, to protect freedom of navigation and trade.
