“We Continue the Change–Democratic Bulgaria” (PP-DB) has tabled a vote of no confidence against the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov in the “Justice and Internal Order” sector, BGNES reported.

“We see not just a failure, but a systemic refusal of the state to resist being controlled by behind-the-scenes interests,” said Bozhidar Bozhanov on behalf of the sponsors. The coalition named Delyan Peevski, leader of the DPS–New Beginning party, as a key figure in these networks. “Our vote is against the fact that the state and the parliamentary majority are not trying to halt the disintegration of institutions, but are actually deepening it,” Bozhanov added. He said the state’s systemic failure is pushing Bulgaria towards an Eastern-style model of governance rather than a European future.

The coalition’s reasoning, set out in more than 80 pages and prepared by PP-DB, was also signed by the MECH and Alliance for Rights and Freedom (APS) parties.

This will be the fifth motion of no confidence against the cabinet. Previous votes were tabled by the opposition parties Velichie, MECH, and Vazrazhdane.
