Sofia Municipality tests AI assistant to ensure more transparent public procurement

Photo: BTA

The Sofia Municipality is already testing an experimental artificial intelligence assistant that supports the review of public procurement, the municipal press center announced. The goal is to make the process as transparent and impartial as possible.

The AI will check technical specifications and potential restrictive conditions or non-competitive requirements. Using AI will reduce the risk of documents being returned for corrections at a later stage and will shorten the awarding time.

The experimental version already includes applicable laws and regulatory provisions related to public procurement, the Sofia Municipality said. The initial tests show excellent results. The next step is to improve the tool and integrate it into the work processes of Sofia Municipality.
