The Speaker of the National Assembly, Natalia Kiselova, took part in the solemn celebration of the 117th anniversary of Bulgaria’s declaration of independence in Veliko Tarnovo.
“Only by being united and focused on national priorities can we build a prosperous, respected and attractive country for young people,” she said in her speech.

“Following the Liberation and the Unification, this represents the third step towards achieving the national ideal: a Bulgaria where all Bulgarians are free, united and equal to other nations,” Kiselova added.

Further, she recounted Bulgaria’s history, highlighting that, following the diplomatic efforts that secured the country’s independence and recognition by the Great Powers and neighbouring states, Bulgaria entered the international arena as a free nation capable of developing politically and economically on its own.
