Bulgaria insists that the Russian Federation must immediately stop provocations against its neighbours and aggression against Ukraine, as well as strictly comply with international law and the UN Charter. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev, who participated in a joint statement by the foreign ministers of EU and NATO member states held in New York on the serious violation of Estonian airspace by Russia, BTA reports.

The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry expresses deep concern about the incident of September 19, 2025, in which 3 armed Russian MiG-31 fighter jets entered deep into the airspace of Estonia, an EU and NATO member state. This is the fourth such violation since the beginning of the year and poses a serious threat to regional and international security, the statement notes.
